Question: There are many providers who assert that the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in higher rates of trauma and trauma-related diagnoses in the general population than we have ever seen before.

Using what you know far as topics of diagnosis, bias, and the role of social/cultural issues, where do you stand on this issue?

Do you believe that we, as a society, have experienced a collective trauma? If so, do you believe that this widespread social issue can be connected to a diagnosis? In other words, if an entire society experiences the trauma together, does it still meet the criteria for diagnosis? Does it still meet the criteria for 'abnormal' if it's a global issue? Why or why not?
