Problem: A 35-year-old friend of yours asks you for career advice. This friend seeks your guidance because your friend has been employed by the same employer for the past 12 years, but is beginning to plan a career change. Your friend has essentially been doing the same managerial work for the past several years, often working 50-60 hours per week. Your friend has two young children, and would like to spend more time with them. Also, your friend feels that there are no opportunities for growth or promotion with the current employer.
