The war that began on 24 February 2022 between Ukraine and Russia did not only cause extensive damage and loss of life in major cities but as well distorted the supply chains all around the globe. As insecurity persists, both local and national supply chains have been disrupted (disruption of logistics and all elements of the food supply chains). To face such challenges particularly at the level of Agri-food industry, agrifood supply chains, value chains and markets should be supported through collaboration.
Based on B325 course material AND external resources, EXPLAIN the importance of supply chain management and CRITICALLY DISCUSS the role of the FAO at ensuring a food security situation (word limit: 1500 words).

- Explain FAO actions taken reference articles identified and critically discussed in line with course material how FAO is dealing with regard to managing in particular the agro-food supply chain and what actions it is taken to deal with goal incompatibility. Ideas may not be straight forward and hence this will be reflective of your level of understanding and ability to implement the course material to real life cases.

- Your answer should be written in an essay format.
- In the introduction, you may reflect provide a definition about supply chain and its importance while opening a discussion about the latest circumstances in particular at the level of the war between Ukraine and Russia and how it changed our perception about supply chain.
- The body text can be dedicatedto explaining relevant theories. The implications of the war between Ukraine and Russia particularly at the level of disruption in supply chains in general and in the agro-food supply chain in particular are to be discussed. They are to identify different challenges that the war led to and critically discuss actions taken by the FAO in this regard.
- Challenges faced in the supply chain and consequently discussing and critically elaborating on actions taken by the FAO to ensure a better arrangement for agro-food supply chains and make sure that things are not getting worse.
- The conclusion can summarize the discussion and provide recommendations in line with what has been advanced.
- Your answer needs to be supported with GOOD REFERENCE (in-text citation and comprehensive list of references as per Harvard style referencing).
