1. Visit a store such as Walmart, Target, or another "big box" store and do,) a little "fieldwork" in an area of the store that interests you. Pick ten products and see where each is made. As an alternative, you can visit a part of your home that interests you and look for ten recently purchased products that include information of where they were manufactured. For example, you might be able to locate ten pieces of recently purchased clothing and, if they still have their labels, see where they were made. When you are done, submit your list of the ten items (e.g., t-shirt, pants, belt etc.) and where they were manufactured. Then answer the following question: Do the results of your investigation support the existence of a global economy? Why or why not?

2. Based on what you have read in the 'Economics & Politics' chapter in our main textbook, make three reasonable predictions about the nature of work and jobs twenty years from now. That is, what trends have you noted that seem likely to continue?
