Part 1: Read the article, The Afrocentric Idea in Education by Molefi Asante (The course uses and Afrocentric perspective to provide a counternarrative to the Eurocentric narrative of the Nation of Islam.)

Based on what you have learned in this module how could you use this knowledge to improve the lives of Black people and their communities.

Part 2 : Read Erdam Benyon article, "Voodoo Cult Among Negro Migrants in Detroit" (This is the first journal article written about the Nation of Islam. Notice how the author uses the term Voodoo. This is his interpretation of the Nation of Islam not the view of of it's members. The title could be discussed in a research studies course with regards to ethics.)
