Case Study: The following case is reproduced from Chapter 15 of Hill, Just Business. Please post your responses to the end-of-case questions by midnight Tuesday. Then post responses to at least one of your colleagues' postings by midnight Thursday.

Dave and Bonnie Wells are a middle-aged couple with two children, ages twelve and ten. Dave is an accountant and Bonnie is a schoolteacher. Both work hard and are involved in numerous church and charitable causes. Dave's uncle recently died, leaving him an acre of land near a resort lake, along with sufficient funds to build a modest cabin.

Bonnie and the children think building a cabin is a great idea, but Dave feels uncomfortable having a second residence when so many people do not even have one. Further, he is troubled by the two-hour one-way drive, particularly about the extra carbon-dioxide fumes his car will emit. Bonnie counters by pointing out that the children are of the perfect age to enjoy water sports. She argues further that they need more family time and that they could provide work for the old contractor who lives near the lake.
