Have you thought about the interconnectedness of what you eat and the health of our environment? According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, sustainable diets have low environmental impacts that contribute to food and nutrition security and healthy life for present and future generations. They are protective and respectful of biodiversity and ecosystems, culturally acceptable, accessible, economically fair, and affordable; nutritionally adequate, safe, and healthy; while optimizing natural and human resources.

The EAT-Lancet Commission has proposed substantial dietary shifts that facilitate the transition to a more sustainable diet in this Sustainability article. Choose one of the five strategies to research and discuss what you will do to be part of the solution to dietary sustainability.
