Question: Prince Haban is a descendant of the Bora Bora tribe of Hawaii. He wants to modify several practices in his tribe that may have an impact on many people's health; thus, he aspires to become the first doctor in his generation and tribe. With the intention of reaching his objective, he deserted his tribe. When his father, the King of Bora Bora, passed away from measles, Prince Haban returned to his tribe to become the new ruler. Many people, especially children, contracted measles during this time. According to their beliefs and culture, letting a measles patient swim in the river would help to wash away the sickness and cure any wounds. Prince Haban, the next in line to succeed, was made king and had to deal with issues relating to his tribe, clinging to the belief that he could change his people's behavior. However, as the King, he is unable to use his medical training or challenge the Tribal Council.

He then contracted the disease, followed the custom of washing in the river to eliminate it, and eventually passed away. What would your stance be if you were Prince Haban?
