Several years ago, you were working with a partner. One night you saw him rough up a heroin junkie, using physically coercive tactics in order to find out about a dealer. (The junkie was high and did not remember the incident.) Your partner then used the information to "stiff in a call" about the dealer (he pretended that he was a citizen and, calling the police department, reported a fictitious story that he saw drugs exchanged in front of the dealer's house). The dealer was arrested on a weapons charge, served three years, and was later killed in a drug deal. The partner is no longer on the force. Now you are an instructor explaining noble-cause corruption.
