Problem: The Police Services for the town of Loser has been having a hard time over the last few years. They were accused of hiring poorly qualified officers based on their knowing people on the Police Services Board. They were also accused of wasting money on such things as tickets for hockey games and other social events. And finally, they have been getting bad press (media coverage) recently over some cases where officers have been accused of excessive force. The Police Services Board decided to retire their chief of police and hire a new one. But first they had to decide what they wanted. They decided to begin by looking at the 3 models of organization or management (Classical, Structural, Humanist-as we studied in Module 7). If you were a member of the Police Services Board which model or models would you choose to influence whom you hire as your new chief and how you are going to improve your Police Services?
