We are at the end of the course and you have witnessed the rise of the United States out of the ashes of the Civil War to become a world power. The 20th Century has been referred to as the American Century. Looking back across the span of the course I need to write an opinion piece on the following items.

1. At what point would you argue that the United States started to rise to the status of world power and why? Explain the series of events that led to this status and why you think they did.

2. At what point would you say that the United States was at its zenith as a world power and why? Explain what let to this high point?

3. Did the United States maintain this status in the world community as we transitioned into the 21st Century or have things change? Explain your position and give solid evidence.

4. If you had a crystal ball, what would it say about the future status of the United States as a world power in the future? Support your position in a clear and well-researched argument.
