In January, Sam contacted Ms. Hoodson and inquired about her wedding planning services, stating that he and Terry wanted to get married in the summer. Mary quoted a price and services and told Sam that there would be a deposit of $500 due at the signing of a contract. Sam agreed to hire "By the Book" to plan his wedding. Mary sent a contract to Sam via email. The contract was faxed back to Mary being signed by both Terry and Sam, and a deposit was made by check. A couple weeks later, Sam and Terry met with Mary.
