My Sister's Keeper - Reflective Journal Assignment -

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a procedure that allows the implantation of a selected gender or a perfect or near-perfect embryo and is the root of many ethical dilemmas within My Sister's Keeper. The novel and movie take on a range of morally complex issues, from the ethics of genetic engineering to the right of terminally-ill patients to elect to die, to a minor's right to control her own body, along with a multitude of family dynamics.
