1. Background - Provide a background of the organization described in this case study. The description should contain a very brief summary of the case, including information on what kind of organization is involved, what the organization does, how large the organization is, and what seems to be the problem/s presented in the case.
Case Analysis/Discovery - Analyze what is happening in the organization and describe how you would get the data to clearly understand what the underlying problems are. Use Block's Discovery Model.
2.a. Identify the presenting problem.
b. Redefine the problem. In this section, you have to provide the description of your discovery process. Specifically, describe what would you have done to redefine the problem:
• What would have been your discovery strategy: Problem-driven or opportunity-driven?
• Would it have been a self-managed discovery or would a third party have conducted it?
• Who would have been involved in the discovery process?
• What dimensions would you have chosen to examine? (should only be specific to HRD discipline)
• What would have been your methods of inquiry? (interviews, surveys, document analysis, observation, whole system/self discovery)
• What would have been the scope and purpose of your data-gathering process?
c. What is a clear and simple picture of what is happening. You will need to rely on scholarly research to provide an evidence-based redefinition of the problem.
d. What is the business problem in the case?
e. How is the problem being managed?
3. Next write out the recommended solutions and expected benefits. What action would you propose to take to deal with the problem/s? Provide detailed explanations of the expected benefits of using the proposed interventions. To make this section evidence-based, use most current scholarly and industry research. Your solutions should be feasible, justifiable, and grounded in research as much as possible.
