I. Henry Williams Case Study
Henry Williams is a 69 Year old African American, a retired rail system engineer who lives in a small apartment with his wife, Ertha. Henry and Ertha had one son who was killed in a war 10 years ago. They have a daughter-in -law Betty, who is a nurse and one grandson, Ty. Henry Is concerned about Ertha because she is experiencing frequent memory lapses. Henry was admitted to the hospital last night after he called the doctor and told him that he could not catch his breath. Henry has several medical problems including COPD, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
A. What are Mr. Williams' needs from his perspective?

II. Mr. Brown Case Study
Mr. Brown is a 70 year old retired male with a number of medical conditions, including Essential Tremors, a disorder which causes daily tremors in his hands. After the death of his wife and son five years ago, Mr. Brown moved into a large apartment complex for the elder population. The apartment complex has access to public transportation which allows him to visit his Primary Care Physician (PCP) for monthly checkups.
Mr. Brown's tremors have recently increased in frequency making it difficult for him to feed himself without dropping utensils and food. A twice a month medication, which will help decrease his tremors, is available in an injection form only. Mr. Brown's insurance company refuses to pay for him to receive this injection at the PCP office, but will pay if he gives the injection to himself at home. Mr. Brown is on a very limited budget and cannot afford to pay someone to come to his residence and provide the injections. The RN working with Mr. Brown at his primary care provider's office is aware that Mr. Brown is not able to self-inject.
