Liz is a 32-year-old woman whose menstrual period is 4 weeks late. She took a positive pregnancy test at home and presents to your office for counseling. This was an unplanned pregnancy. Urine testing confirms that she is pregnant; she is currently 6 weeks gestation; this is a singleton (one baby) pregnancy. Liz has never been pregnant before.
