The average, or "par" score for an 18 hole golf course is 72. The score is computed by counting the number of swings, or "strokes" a player must make with their club to hit the ball into each of the 18 holes on the golf course. There are certain criteria that clubs and golf balls must meet to be legal in professional golf play. Suppose that Lion Irons, a talented young player, is using a new brand of golf clubs. He shoots greatly under par, and the other players think that his new clubs have something to do with it. In order to determine if they have a case to present to the professional golf governing body, the other players need to determine if Lion's score was significantly lower than average. If they conduct a hypothesis test, what will their hypothesis statements be?
