Design a PPP Reading Lesson for your intermediate-level students.
Choose any topic you wish.
You must find an authentic reading and include the reading text with your lesson plan.
Include all your needed materials and S>T interactions.
Include a general idea of the timing for each segment of the lesson.
Anticipate some of the problems your students might have with this task.
Include key vocabulary items and explain how you will teach those vocabulary items to your students.
Describe how you will elicit relevant personal experiences.
Explain how students will predict, preview, skim or scan the text.
Include at least 3 or 4 gist questions and at least 6 detailed questions.
Present or practice a language item, such as a grammar structure. What else can you teach with this reading? Grammar? Vocabulary?
Explain how you will teach the grammar or vocabulary point. Include at least one practice activity Vocabulary grouping? Fill in the blank? Information gap for vocabulary or grammar.
Practice a sub skill of reading or listening.
Include a follow-up activity based on the reading task which encourages students to apply what they have learned in other skill areas, such as speaking or writing.
