You are trying to reach journalists who write about sports, sustainability, new products, health and wellness, focus on NYC. In short, each media contact will have a specific agenda. Remember the 5ws, and the formatting for a press release. Review your Pancake release as an additional guide and conduct some of your own research for examples. I mentioned PR Newswire, where thousands of releases are housed as a resource. Your release should be no more than 2 ½ pages, double-spaced, including the boilerplate. Remember the inverted pyramid. Most important information at top. Who, what, when, where why. Second paragraph is more content about the product, the event, what will happen there. Use quotes where appropriate. Latter paragraph is about important information and details, logistics. Closing is call to action, how to get in touch, make sure have times and location.
