A mass m1 4 kg is moving toward the left with a velocity of vi1 = 10 m/s when it collides with a second mass m2 = 2 kg which is initially at rest. After the collision the first mass bounces off to the right of the initial path of motion with a velocity of vf1= 9 m/s at an angle 20, while the second mass m2 bounces off to the left of the original path of motion with a velocity vf2 at an angle b.
(a.) What will be the magnitude of the final velocity vf2 of m2 after the collision?
(b.) What will be the direction of motion b of m2 after the collision?
(c.) What is the total kinetic energy of this system before the collision?
(d.) What will be the total kinetic energy of this system after the collision?
(e.) Was the collision between these two masses elastic or inelastic? Prove your answer
