In dogs, the C gene is located on chromosome 6 and encodes for a protein required to convert a strait tail into a curved tail. The alleles for Agouti are "c+ H" (wildtype) & "c- h" (a hypomorph).

A second gene, T, is on the X chromosome and encodes for a protein required for the formation of a straight tail. When T is non-functional, no tail is made. The alleles for T are "t+ D" (wildtype) & "t- d" (an amorph). Dogs, like humans, have X and Y sex chromosomes and are diploid.

2) Write the pathway regulated by these two genes in dogs. Make sure to indicate which gene functions at each step.

3) A male dog with no tail mates with a female dog with a curved tail. Both male and female offspring have no tails or curved tails. What were the genotypes of the parents? Justify your answer
