What we can do in our every day lives to combat childhood poverty. Be specific and realistic. Here's what I do not want to see: "we can become aware." That's great, but now that we are aware, what can we do? "we can all run for office and change every law." That's not realistic nor is it tangible. Basically, I want you to tell me what one can do, as your average person, to help.
Find an organization (beside NAMI Washington) in the US that provides services to children/youth specifically regarding mental health intervention. This organization can provide other services too, but mental health and children has to be one of the provided services. Tell us about the organization - name, location, how services are delivered to children, how many children they serve (if you can find it) and the contact information.
When a school-aged child is exhibiting disruptive or dangerous behavior at school, how can trauma-informed care help to de-escalate the crisis?
