How comprehensive are these policies? What percentage of the sites you visited belongs to a privacy watchdog agency such as TRUSTe or BBBOnline? How important is a posted privacy polity for e-companies? Explain.
Question 3. What competitive factors must a small business consider when establishing pricing? Define: odd pricing, price lining, leader pricing, geographic pricing, multiple unit pricing, bundling, optional-product pricing, captive-product pricing, byproduct pricing, and discounts.
Question 4. Interview the owner of a successful small retailer and ask the following questions: Does he/she seek a specific image through the company's prices? What role do competitors play in the business owner's pricing? Does the owner use specific pricing techniques such as odd pricing, price lining, leader pricing, or geographic pricing? How are discounts calculated? What markup percentage does the business use? How are prices derived? What are their cost structures?
Alternatively, if a student cannot locate a retailer to interview, students may research these questions on the Internet and locate a recorded interview instead to complete this discussion requirement.
