A thin film, with a thickness of 272.7 nm and with air on both sides is illuminated with a beam of white light (assume the white light contain equal amount of light at all wavelengths in the visible spectrum 400 nm to 700 nm). The incident and reflected light beams are perpendicular to the film. In the reflected light beam from the film, light with wavelength of 600 nm undergoes the maximum amount of constructive interference. What wavelength is completely missing from the reflected light beam? While you are not told explicitly what is the exact value for the index of refraction of the thin film, you do know that the actual value of the index of refraction is somewhere between 1.2 and 2.
