"Our Blind Spot About Guns"

Introduction and revised thesis:
In the article "Our Blind Spot About Guns," Nicholas Kristof explains the history of fatality rates of those in vehicular accidents. Instead of confiscating cars from the people, we set up rules and regulations on cars, street laws, and drivers. He further discusses the similarities between vehicles and guns and the saying that we could've said back then- "Cars don't kill people. People kill people." Rather than proclaiming a phrase that is not all true, we built a system that protects humans from themselves, so why can't we do the same for guns? Kristof makes his argument clear as he describes the similarities between vehicles, death rates, and regulations compared to today's guns, death rates, and the lack of rules. He argues that gun regulations are non-existent in comparison to those enforced on cars and that by changing these regulations on guns, we would save lives.
