2kg of an ideal argon gas has been compressed irreversibly from an equilibrium state 1 (where P_1= 2bar and V_1= 3m^3) to an equilibrium state 2 where P_2 = 3 bar and V_2 = 1 m^3. 1/3 of the energy transferred during the process between the system and the environment was in form of heat and rest energy was transferred in form of work. Assumptions: the gas heat capacities C_v and C_p are the same as those of the calorically-perfect ideal argon gas. What were the changes of the internal energy, enthalpy and entropy of the gas during the process? What was the work transfer? Was the work done on or done by the system? What was the heat transfer? Was the heat added or removed from the system?
