Description - Martin Luther lived a fascinating life. It is no exaggeration to say that his life and resulting ministry changed the world. In a paper of 5-7 pages, address the following questions about the life and ministry of Martin Luther. Use citation and scholarly resources to make your points. Myths: As with any person who does great things, there are facts that can be established about that person and oftentimes myths constructed because that person seems larger than life. Separate the man and his factual life from the myths. What factual things do we know about Luther, his upbringing, and his entrance into ministry, and what things seem to have been added over the course of time that may not correspond to fact?

Personality: God makes each of us in a unique way that perfectly fits the calling on our life and the ministry calling he has for us to fulfill. What unique things do you see in the life of Luther that are custom-made by God to help with his ministry calling? How did God use those personality traits as a skillful potter to shape Luther through life events?

Challenges: The modern adage says that there is no gain without pain. What kinds of persecution did Luther suffer and how did he respond? How do you see God sovereignly forming Luther over time to lead the forces of reformation that were at work in his time? What might he have done differently to be even more effective in his calling? Did he learn any lessons along the way that apply to you, your life, your church, or your ministry?
