Go to a website for a company or agency that does polling, find the results of a poll they've done recently, and give a brief summary of the results. You can copy from their website as long as you tell where you got the info. Possible polling agencies are Gallup, Rasmussen, Zogby, RealClearPolitics, national news organizations, and others. Check other students' postings before you do this and don't report on a poll that another student has already done.

Here is an example of a poll reported on a website: Despite recent negative press, a majority of Americans, 54%, think the U.S. Transportation Security Administration is doing either an excellent or a good job of handling security screening at airports. At the same time, 41% think TSA screening procedures are extremely or very effective at preventing acts of terrorism on U.S. airplanes, with most of the rest saying they are somewhat effective.

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted July 9-12, 2012, with a random sample of 1,014 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. For results based on the total sample of national adults, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is a4 percentage points.

After posting the summary of the poll from the website, copy and answer the following questions/items using the summary you found.

State the confidence interval it two ways:

a. The lower to upper limits.

b. As the sample proportion +/- the error term.

What was the sample size and how was the data collected? State the meaning of the confidence interval in terms of the specific question or poll.
