Enron Energy was a leading US firm specializing in Energy trading and supply. It was established in 1985, following a merger between Houston Gas Co. and Omaha-based InterNorth Inc. By mid 2000, Enron Online was executing nearly $350 billion in trades. Its share price went up to $90.75 per share. By the Fall of 2000, Enron starting to crumble under its own weight.

Later that year, the company suffered from great loss and the loss of confidence of investors and traders resulting in a drop of stock price to $0.26.
