Question 3: You are a uniformed patrol officer and are performing traffic enforcement duties in a marked cruiser. You observe a vehicle approach an intersection at approximately 60km/h. The speed limit before and after this intersection is 60 km/hr. While approaching the intersection the traffic light has turned red and the vehicle has increased its speed. Other vehicles travelling alongside the vehicle have safely slowed and stopped at the red light. However, the vehicle that sped up instead of slowing and stopping has entered and crossed the intersection while the traffic light was red. You follow and stop the vehicle and advise the driver of the violation. The driver replies it was safer to get through the intersection than trying to stop abruptly. The driver produces the documents you require under the circumstances.
