Assignment - Reproductive Justice is a framework initially developed by a group of Black womxn to distinctly study and address the intersectional inequalities of reproductive rights in relation to both people of color and those of marginalized genders. The names of those women are: Loretta Ross, Toni M. Bond Leonard, Rev. Alma Crawford, "Able" Mable Thomas, Evelyn Field, Bisola Marignay, Cassandra McConnell, Cynthia Newbille, Elizabeth Terry, Winnette Willis, Terri James, and Kim Youngblood. These women would go on to found the organization Sister Song in 1997.
