Assignment:

What was one of the main advantages of living within Dar al-Islam? It was a kingdom where Arabic and the language of the Koreans (Qurean) were both spoken. This allowed Korean merchants (like the one named Alexandria) to trade freely. It was the one place in the world that avoided the Black Death. This was because there were so many cats that no rats could survive for long within its borders. It was run by the famously tolerant emperor named Ibn Battuta, known for harboring merchants and philosophers alike and protecting them from enemies.

This part of China was famous for having a great wall, which protected poultry such as ducks and quails from strong winds. It was an emormous region with a shared religious faith that was, in turn, based on a shared language. For this reason, traders, scholars, and explorers like Ibn Battuta could travel throughout this vast territory in relative safety.
