2. What is meant by the "Call of Abraham" or the Patriarchal/Matriarchal Period of Judaism? What are some important points or traits of Judaism that we see rooted, grounded, or reflected in this event?
3. What was the Exodus experience in Judaism? What was/is the significance of it in ancient and present times? Include in your discussion items such as: YAHWEH, Moses, Miriam, historical revelation, ethical monotheism, Chosen People, and Covenant.
4. What is meant by Settling in Canaan/Israel/Palestine? Define Confederacy, Monarchy, Judges. Identify Deborah, Saul, David, Solomon, Rehoboam, and Jeroboam.

8. Discuss the Initial Period of Roman Empire's presence in Israel. Know: information regarding Messianic Hopes; and the five major religious groupings of Palestinian Jews during this era.
9. Discuss the meaning and the importance of Canonization and the codification of the Talmud. What is meant by Apocrypha, Halakah, Haggada (in reference to Talmud), Mishnah, Gemara?
10. Know some major developments in Medieval Judaism. What was the overall relationship between Jews and Christians? Jews and Muslims? Identify: Karaism, Moses Maimonides, Hasidic Mysticism.
11. Discuss some major developments and events in modern Judaism, especially since the 1700s. Know about: Enlightenment, Emancipation, Orthodox Judaism, Reform Judaism, Conservative Judaism, Reconstructionist Judaism, Humanistic Judaism, the Holocaust, traditional and modern (or political or secular) Zionism, the Holocaust, the state of Israel.
