Assignment: This journal is focused on the process of acculturation and how you became a member of a specific culture of your choice. I want you to focus on acculturation and not enculturation because the process of enculturation can be difficult to remember if it's something that we have been a member of since birth.
You should pick one culture that you belong to and go through your process of becoming a member and the traits/characteristics/practices that you are now involved in within that culture.
Your paper should be at least 2 pages in length and follow the formatting guidelines on the syllabus. Unlike the first journal, this will be a traditional essay format with a brief intro, at least 2 paragraphs, and a brief conclusion.
Checklist
Briefly discuss what the culture is and what traits/characteristics/commonalities exist within that culture. Write this as if we are completely unfamiliar with the culture; assume we know nothing about it.
Showcase the beginning of your involvement. What got you interested? Who was the first person to show you? What was the defining moment that made you believe that you were a member?
What is your personal definition of ethics? How would you rate the ethical standards of your classmates and others in the school, such as faculty?
Give one performance metric of primary interest to a user of a system and give one performance metric of primary interest to the owner or operator of a system.
Explain why you are interested in psychology and in the particular area(s) of interest. Summarize how these areas fit
Explain the difference between nominal and ordinal data.Explain how nominal and ordinal data relate to a rating scale.
In preparation for your report, conduct your review of the organization using the following approach: Evaluate the company's business strategy and global competitiveness plan. Conduct an internal assessment using SWOT analysis
Give a synopsis of the case of Johnson v. Avery. Then, state the Supreme Court ruling and the reasoning behind that ruling.
Compare and contrast what your expert practitioner had to say with relevant instructional material from this course
It may help you to be familiar with the concept of poor governance, because this often plays a significant part in why a country is underdeveloped.
