Question-

An operator was told to control the temperature of the reactor at 60°C. The operator set the set point of the temperature controller at 60. The scale actually indicated 0-100% of the temperature range of 0-200°C. This caused a runaway reaction which over pressurized the vessel. Liquid was discharged and the injured the operator. What was the actual set point the operator set?

Additional information-

This question relates to Mechanical Engineering and it is about temperature control in a reactor. The difference in the setting points and the resultant temperature change in the reactor was misinterpreted by the operator resulting in his injury.
