Problem

Nasim Azar (DOB: 15/06/1989), aged 32, is a citizen of Iraq. She is a divorcee and has one child named Abdul Kasim, five years of age. She has been working for the Ministry of Oil in Iraq for the last two years. After the fall of the Iraqi government and invasion by United States of America troops, she became the victim of discrimination due to her religious beliefs. One day on her way to work on the Ministry of Oil's bus, the bus was ambushed and the bus driver was killed. Nasim and her colleagues were kidnapped and threatened that they should stop working for the Ministry. She was frightened and stopped work.

After the kidnapping she received a letter with a bullet advising her not to allow her son to go to school or he would be killed. Nasim told Abdul to stop going to school. Eventually Nasim was forced out of her house and so she fled the country with her son to Malaysia. She has a brother, Amir, who is an Australian citizen and resides in Sydney, Australia. She has two other brothers, one who is a citizen of the USA and resides in the USA, the other brother resides in Malaysia and is a Malaysian citizen.
