Question: Jim is the newly appointed leader for the Japanese regional office of the U.S. based company, Wizen. He has done many cultural studies to ensure he is fully equipped to manage the operation in a foreign country. He is particularly aware of Hofstede cultural dimensions as they differ between Japan and the US and has done a lot of reading on Japanese culture to be sure he is culturally sensitive to the environment. Jim understands that Japan scored very high on the Hofstede's masculinity scale? Given this understanding, what types of things could Jim do to be more successful in his role in leading operations in Japan?
