Case Study: Please read the article from PR Newswire about changes to hiring practices at The Body Shop: The Body Shop Expands its Open Hiring Practices

The use of three screening questions is mentioned in the article. They are:

  1. Are you authorized to work in the United States?
  2. Can you stand for up to eight hours?
  3. Can you lift over 50 pounds?

If an applicant answers yes to each of the questions, they are automatically given a job on a first-come, first-serve basis. No additional interviews, background checks or drug screens are required. The Body Shop reports that this practice has reduced monthly turnover by 60%, and has reduced dependence on staffing companies and the use of temporary employees.
