The final term paper assignment will require you to read more widely and critically on a topic from class that will be useful to you professionally. Do not select a topic that is loosely relate to I/O psychology (e.g., Maslow's Hierarchy of needs), but one that is unique to our course. In this paper, you will 1) summarize the current research findings related to your topic using scholarly journal articles (at least 3 peer-reviewed sources, none published before 2005), 2) evaluate how these findings could benefit various or specific business, 3) review a business article on your topic and compare this information to your peer-reviewed sources, and 4) include a personal reflection or example(s) on how you might use this information in your current or future profession. Example topics for your paper may include the following:

• Restaurant tipping
• Workplace bullying
• Employee theft
• Emotional labor
• Underemployment

Your paper should include the following structure:

• Describe your selected topic in your own words and in enough detail to show that you understand it correctly. Be sure to address the following - How prevalent is the topic within the business world? What types of businesses does it tend to affect? How does it affect these businesses?
• Summarize three current peer reviewed sources on your topic. How were the studies conducted? What findings did the researchers note? Do these studies demonstrate or discuss validity and reliability? Can you think of any other ways the findings noted could benefit various or specific businesses?
• Using at least one business magazine (e.g., Forbes, Entrepreneur, Fortune, etc), how do businesses tend to view your topic? What does your article suggest business owners should do to handle the topic you selected? How does this source compare to the peer-reviewed sources you cited (i.e., does it seem valid or more practical relative to the peer-reviewed sources)? Explain.
• How does your topic and its findings relate to your current or future career? This is the only part of your paper that should be based on personal speculation.

This paper should be around 5 to 6 pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages), double-spaced, and times new roman 12-point font. Your goal is to demonstrate what you've learned in the course, so provide plenty of detail. Remember to also cite all sources in APA format.
