This is the first portion of the Web Project. This project will require you to demonstrate knowledge of all skills introduced throughout the course. A description of the Web Project is found in Chapter 5 on p. 245 of your textbook, and more details are in WebSiteProject_OL.docx in Resources.

Upon completion of this assignment you should be able to:

Write a website topic approval paper.

Background Information

In lieu of a final exam in this course, you must design, develop, and publish a complete website using the recommended design practices found in the textbook. The completed site will contain a home page and at least six (but no more than ten) content pages.

The first phase of the Web Project is the website topic approval paper. The topic of your website must be approved by your instructor before you proceed to the next phase of the project.

Instructions

Select a topic for your website project and answer the following questions in a one page paper:What is the purpose of the website?

List the reason you are creating the website.

What do you want the website to accomplish?

List the goals you have for the website.

Who is your target audience?

Describe your target audience by age, gender, socioeconomic characteristics, etc.

What opportunity or issue is your website addressing?

What type of content may be included in your website?

List the URLs for two related or similar websites and explain how these sites relate to your site.

This document should be in APA format and references should be properly cited.

When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
