Abby & Elizabeth (both 2-years-old) attend the same daycare. Abby enjoys being at daycare and likes playing with the various toys that are provided. Abby was playing fine while her mother was in the room, but when her mother left Abby appeared to be unhappy for a few minutes before resuming her play. Elizabeth, on the other hand, clings to her mother each day when being dropped off at daycare. After her mother leaves, she cries throughout the day and sometimes refuses to play. When Elizabeth's mother comes back to pick her up at the end of the day, Elizabeth cries and clings to her mother again. What type of attachment do you believe each child is displaying?
