This week, you were introduced to the research paper prompt and read about the three key issues in education you can pick from for the paper: student homelessness and food insecurity, the school to prison pipeline, and the model minority myth.

For this post, please decide which of the three topics you will write your final research paper on and then answer the following 5 questions. Make sure to answer all 5! Next week, I will be assigning you to a discussion board based on your choice, so this must be your final decision!

5 questions to respond to for this week's discussion board:

What topic are you choosing to research further and why?

What is one major takeaway you had from the text on this topic? Include at least 1 article quote in your response.

What did you learn? What did you already know about it if anything?

What did you agree and/or disagree with in the article?

What were you challenged by? What questions did it raise?

Include one quote from the article you read in your response.

Your initial post must be a minimum of 150 words and be up by Wednesday at midnight. Then, respond to the posts of two other classmates in a minimum of 50 words by Sunday at midnight. When you respond to your peers, please tell them what you think of their post. Can you relate to their reaction?
