1. Park Farm Winery in Bankston Iowa employs residents to pick grapes at company-owned vineyard. The pickers can pick and deliver at a continuous rate of 200 pounds of grapes per hour. They begin picking at 5 a.m. and finish at 2 p.m. each day with no breaks in between. The grapes are dumped in a bin located outside the company’s plant which can hold 1000 pounds of grapes. The winery processes the grapes into wine at a rate of 150 pounds per hour. Operations at the winery starts at 7 a.m. When answering the following questions, treat grape picking and delivery as a continuous flow process.
