Prompt: Equality is one of the founding American values. Does America meet the Founding Father's goals of equality, or do we fall short?
1. When I see this topic about equality and what the founding fathers were trying to create has me divided. I feel that yes America does fall short in some areas but in others it's not bad. Over the years America has made big movements towards equality like the civil rights act, voting rights act, same sex marriage and women's rights. Some of these did help move us toward equality but then there are the ones we are still facing like equal pay for men and women. There are also inequalities in Women are also doing work that men are doing yet they still get paid less in some jobs. Another area is when they overturned rue vs wade, taking the option of a women to make their own chose about their body. There are also inequalities in treatment and responsibilities as well as education. There are so many things that yes America has created some equalities, but it still has a long way to go. We take one step forward and then it feels like with take two steps back.
