Questions: After you've sketched out your three lives, you might discover a life you want to commit to--Don't!
Hold back and test your assumptions first.
The most efficient way to test your assumptions and have a sample experience of a future life is to conduct prototype conversations. Prototype conversations include reaching out to people on LinkedIn, contacting family friends, asking your advisor for help networking or reaching out to alumni who are doing what you want to do and asking them if you could buy them coffee or have a 15-minute zoom call so that you can hear their story. Ask them about their experiences and absorb the good and bad parts of their life. If you do so, you're far less likely to commit to a life that you'll later regret.
The most important principle to remember when 'designing your life' is that you don't know what you want until you experience it
Questions: 1 to 3 page summary of your conversation that answers these questions:
1. Who did you talk to and what are they doing that interests you.
2. What did you find most interesting about your conversation?
3. What surprised you about your conversation?
4. What action items were generated for you as a result of your conversation?
