STEP ONE
Read the article "Undercover Parent" by Harlan Coben.
STEP TWO
In at least 300+ words, analyze the article for the three following things:
Ethos: What gives the article credibility? Why do you trust the author? Who is Harlan Coben? Look his name up in Google and see what you can find. What credentials and work experience contributes to his ethos? Where was the article published? What understanding of the topic does the author seem to have? Can you tell the author has had personal experience with the topic? If so, how?
Pathos: What feeling is evoked when reading this article? (A feeling can be evoked from one part of the text or the whole thing.) Identify and describe a specific emotion (happy, fear, concern, hope, anger, etc.) that the text evokes. How does it evoke this emotion? Provide an example from his article that makes the reader feel this emotion.
Logos: What strategies are used to get the reader interested in the topic? Address THREE different strategies. What strategies are used get the reader to accept the claim? How does the author get the reader interested in the topic? How does the author provoke the reader into feeling a certain way about the topic? How does the author get the reader to understand an important concept in the article? There are a variety of ways you can assess the author's logos (strategies). Avoid summarizing the article in this section. Only focus on his strategies.

Add direct quotes from the article to help support your analysis of ethos, pathos, and logos.

Separate each one into its own analysis paragraph.
