Question 1) Imagine that a scientist noticed that her six-year-old son has fewer behavioral problems and does better in school on days when he eats full breakfast in the morning (this is a real story). She observed that many times and now she is confident that this is true, at least for her son. Is this knowledge a scientific fact? She is a scientist, and she observed that many times, so it must be scientific? Or not? Read about the scientific method in PPTs and the book and explain if this is a right statement. Question 2) During the pandemic, you probably heard a lot of contradictory statements, which were deemed "scientific", like "masks will not protect you", "masks will make you sick even more likely"(at the beginning of pandemic), "masks protect you", "cloth masks give you protection", "only K95 masks protect you" or "you can catch virus from surfaces for up to 3 days", "virus can live on surfaces up to 47 (!) days", yes, I read this article, "you can't catch the virus from surfaces" etc.
