Case Study: Patient X is a 54-year-old African American male. The patient presented in the ED at suicidal ideations in content of financial insecurity, family conflict, feeling depressed, and racing thoughts. The patient presented with racing thoughts, poor sleep, poor appetite, relapse in drinking, hopelessness, and a plan to overdose on his medication. The patient stated that he had voices telling him to hurt himself by overdosing on pills. The patient has a psych history. 4-5 Years ago the patient was homeless, trying to work and find a new home. The patient has a family history of bipolar, ADHD, and alcohol abuse.
