What stack height should be used to assure concentrations are no more than 0.1 times the odor threshold at the near edge of town (1 km away) on a class B day? The stack has a diameter of 5 m, the gas exit velocity is 13.5 m/s, and the gas exit temperature is 145 C. The ambient temperature and pressure are 15 C and 100 kPa, respectively. Will any buildings in the rest of the town (farther away than the near edge located 1 km downwind from the paper plant) experience higher concentrations than a residence at the boundary?
