Imagine that you are planning instruction in one of the above selected subject areas. In your plan, address the following:

Who are the students (age, type of learning environment)? 11-12, traditional classroom

What specifically do you want students to learn? How will you arrange the classroom environment and promote a sense of community in this classroom? Literary terms from To Kill a Mockingbird. C Classroom will be arranged in groups of four desk facing each other in the shape of a square.

What might be a group activity that would facilitate learning? Each group will get a different literary term. The group will find an example from the book that is an example of the literary term. Once all groups have found an example, they will present their examples to the rest of the class.

What materials will you need? Copies of the book, pencil/pen, and paper

How will you monitor students' progress? At the end of the activity, a quiz will be taken by each student. The quiz will have literary terms that needs to be matched with examples. The total number of correct answers will justify their comprehension of the terms.
